By removing the valve you remove the valve that recycles exhaust which heats the intake up, and puts exhaust gasses back into the motor. Word to wise, upon E-Check you might fail because it is missing. You might also throw a code, many have run without a EGR valve and never thrown a code, like me. If using the Ultimate chip you will not throw a code for it missing.

This also makes changing timing more easy.
